Hello! I'm Fern Angel Beattie - writer and founder of Write Bloody UK.
I mainly write about what I consider my personal Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Women, Love, Sex & Death. I discovered my love of poetry when using alchemy on grief, and have released three collections, The Trouble With Love (From Trouble, With Love) through Lapwing Publications, the self-published Pendulum and The Art of Shutting Up with Broken Sleep Books. My poems have been published in Belleville Park Pages, The Legendary, JUNGFTAK and Blood Tree Literature. Once a writer for Australian platform Your Friend's House, my spoken word piece for the short dance film Shaping Scars was officially selected for LA Dance Short Film Festival, TIFF, Korea Film Festival, L Fest & Flatlands Dance Film Festival in 2017. In 2022, I won First Prize in the Kent & Sussex Poetry Competition with my poem "I Still Dream About My Ex Lovers." My influences range from Megan Falley and Olivia Gatwood to Michel Gondry and Nabokov.
